Whitney’s Healthy Diet Journey
I just finished watching Forks Over Knives, the documentary that was on Alex’s must see list. It was so eye opening! I already eat a pretty healthy vegetarian diet but it got me to thinking about ways to be even healthier. I think my next step in my healthy diet journey is….*drum roll*…. juicing!
As I’ve told you guys before I haven’t always eaten healthy. In fact, just 3 years ago when Alex and I met, I considered hamburgers and fries an essential food group. As I watched Alex, eat healthy, I just started listening to what she had to say and eating what she ate. As I discovered ways to be healthier that worked for me, it changed my life but it was a process that didn’t happen over night. I am a huge proponent of eating a healthy diet, but you have to do what works for you. So maybe you’re not going to be come a vegetarian or a vegan, but you might start taking a multivitamin or start incorporating more fruits and veggies in your diet. Every little bit helps. Anyhoo, back to the topic at hand, juicing.
I think I’m going to start small by juicing once a day. If you want to learn more about juicing watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Its a great introduction to juicing. You don’t have to be as extreme as he was by doing a 60 day juicing fast, but it’s a good summary about the benefits of juicing.
I’ve only begun my research and I’m headed out to buy my first juicer today! Wish me luck. Ill post more details about what I’m doing later this week.
Here is a link to a blog I found about the benefits of juicing.
