Accessories give me and my ensembles life! I feel naked without some sort of accessory or piece of jewelry. My look just seems incomplete. Choosing the right accessories and jewelry to complete your outfit is very important. They are the icing on your outfit cake. Everyone knows the icing can make or break a cake!   Some tips for choosing the right accessories/jewelry to complete your look: 1. EDIT EDIT EDIT! Pick out your jewlery, put on every piece you think is wearable with your look, then remove a few. I do this a lot. I get excited when choosing my accessories/jewelry especially if I have some new pieces. I want to put everything on and show it all off. In order to prevent looking like Mr. T, I stand in front my mirror and scan my look head to toe, then begin to remove the "extras". Save those pieces for another day and another look! 2. Make a statement Take something simple and make it super fab with one piece! I love putting on a basic top and then wearing a big, statement making necklace or colorful and/or embellished earrings. 3. Mix and Match I am not a big fan of those jewelry "sets". You know the ones with the matching earrings and necklace. Makes me feel so confined to a specific style. Ive had a couple people but me those sets and Ive yet to wear the pieces together. I am a big fan of mixing colors, prints, and styles of jewelry. They're different, yet they are cohesive and jointly complete my look. Mix yet match. 4. Comfort Dont wear big earrings if your ears cannot handle them! Just because everyone is wearing those earrings with the 47 beads on them doesnt mean you can or have to. If you can only handle a small stud earring or a basic small hoop, wear that. Dont go stretching your earlobe trying to fit in. If you dont like big cocktail rings, or long necklaces or any other popular accessory or piece of jewelry, DONT WEAR IT. Wear what makes you comfortable. At the end of the day, fashion and style are all about what each individual loves and feels comfortable in. You can find good accessories/jewelry just about anywhere! I have stuff from everywhere from stores like Marc Jacobs to Forever 21. I even purchased a few pieces from online boutiques and etsy.com. The website has way more items listed than you'd find in any store location.   Etsy.com is a great place to shop for handmade and unique jewelry and so much more. Prices vary depending on which "shops" you visit. I recently ordered a pair of earrings from a shop that cost $10 and even received a bonus pair as a gift for free.
