How long have you been natural and when did you BC?

I’ve been natural for about 8 ½ months. I BC’d on June 26, 2009.

What are your staple products and hairstyles?

My staple products are ORS Replenishing Conditioner, KeraCare Moisturizing Conditioner for Color Treated Hair, Hawaiian Silky 14-1, Coconut Oil, and Fantasia IC Glosser for Color Treated Hair. My other staples would be my oil mix (EVOO, Jojoba, Vitamin E, Peppermint and other oils) and my daily moisturizing spritz (water, aloe vera juice, Infusium 23, Peppermint oil, EVOO, Vit E Oil)—that mix is going to take me through a long, hot NC summer!

The hairstyle that I wear most consistently is my “Curly Girl” look. When I have 3-4 hours to spare, I love wearing a twistout. Currently, I’m hiding my hair until my one year nappiversary, so I’m wearing Kinky Twists currently. After I take these out, I’m thinking a curly, kinky weave.

What are your natural hair goals?

I’d love to be MBL unstretched; but I’ll settle for APL unstretched.

How do you keep your hair intact overnight?

Satin bonnet and pillow case.

How do you maintain length?

Vitamins, Protective Styling, Low-manipulation styles

Name 1 reason you went natural and why you love being natural.

I have never seen or known my hair relaxer free. I was relaxed at an early age, so relaxed hair was all I knew. While relaxed, I never experienced some of the horror stories I’ve heard other previously relaxed wearers suffered through. I just decided that I wanted to experience my natural hair once in my life.

I like being natural because of the versatility. I also like it because it’s different and I like the reaction I receive from men who are inexplicably drawn to me although they are not sure what it is they like. I just look “different” to them J.
