KeetaRay is here to share her story How long have you been natural and when did you BC? I did my BC November 2008 after transitioning for 8 months. I’ve been natural for a year and a month now. What are your staple products and hairstyles? My staple style is a twistout! Most often I just leave it out, sometimes I pull it into a puff. SEE ALSO: 4B Natural Hair Journey | Marley What are your natural hair goals?</i> My overall goal is HEALTHY hair, and a healthy scalp. Also, to retain length and to just be patient. The growth will come. The health of my hair is key. How do you keep your hair intact overnight? I always always always sleep with a satin bonnet or scarf! No exceptions. I even have a “spare” one in my bag just in case I’m out. How do you maintain length? I rarely use heat. I’ve never flat ironed my hair as of yet. I may try that someday but don’t have any plans to in the near future. In the 13 months I’ve been natural, I’ve gotten my hair blow dried only to have my ends trimmed, and that was 3 times. Other than that, no heat. Twists/twistouts are protective styles, so that helps, too. Low manipulation. And I only comb my hair with a wide-tooth comb when wet w/conditioner, maybe 1-2 times per week.   Name 1 reason you went natural and why you love being natural. I love being natural because it’s EASY. It’s also a lot less expensive than when I used to relax my hair and have to get it done every week or every 2 weeks. Natural hair is so versatile, style possibilities are endless. Going natural for me was more self-acceptance than anything else, and I am happy I did it.
