How long have you been natural and when did you BC?
I have been natural for 3 years and I decided 12/31/07.
What are your staple products and hairstyles?
I love the way my hair feels with Pantene’s Leave in Creme Conditioner, I generally use Dove’s Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner once every 4-6 days. I usually wear my hair in a tight ponytail only because it gets so tangled and I have a wavy curly mix grain, but for most of the summer it’s been wash n go. I also sponge roll my hair in big or small sections depending on the amount of curl I want and how long i wand it to last. I pressed my hair once to see the length straightened but I usually don’t put heat on my hair and for shine I use Olive Oil wrap mousse and shea butter hair balm.
What is your regimen?
I comb through and moisturize my hair everyday depending on the style I have, sometimes every 2-3 days. My hair ‘eats’ up oils so keeping it moisturized is a challenge in itself. But that’s about the most I do to hair, that I would consider a regimen.
What are your natural hair goals?
I just want my hair to be healthy and to reach the length it was before I started getting chemicals.
How do you keep your hair intact overnight?
Usually a satin cap or wrap but most of the time I just sleep on it and fluff it when I get up.
How do you maintain length?
I keep my ends clipped and I get professional protein treatment every 4-6 weeks by a natural hair care salon.
Name 1 reason you went natural and why you love being natural.
I went natural because I have a manageable grain of hair without the chemicals, and also $$$, I started really looking at what I was spending to maintain my processed hair and it wad RIDICULOUS! I have heard people say it costs just as much to care for natural hair but not my case. I have saved thousands of dollars over the past 3 yrs being chemical free and I don’t plan on going back. I know it sound cliche but it’s so freeing not being a “slave” to the salon and the perm.
