Hi my name is Nikki and I started my weight loss journey in January of 2012. My beginning height and weight was 266 and I was 5'6. I got tired of being ignored and being the fat friend in the group so I decided to make a change. I started my journey by changing my eating habits, drinking water, and exercising. I used Zumba, walking, turbo jam, and turbo fire to reach my goals. I ate healthy most of the time with the exception of one treat meal a week to control my cravings. On march 29,2013 I reached my goal weight of 163 (I was aiming for 165) and have kept it off since then! Remaining active and trying new things has helped me to maintain my weight. I started out as a size 18, and I am currently a size 8, the smallest I have ever been!
Sure! I didn't do anything drastic as far as diet is concerned. I made sure I ate 6 meals every day. For breakfast I would have cereal or wheat waffles with turkey sausage and fruit. For snacks I'd have yogurt and granola, fruit, nuts, rice cakes with peanut butter, etc. lunch would consist of grilled chicken salads usually, and my snack would be the same. For dinner I'd have chicken or fish with a vegetable or brown rice. I'd mix it up every once in a while with a new recipe like peppers stuffed with ground turkey and brown rice, or some wheat spaghetti. I made sure I drank half of my bodyweight in ounces daily. And every Sunday evening I had a treat meal like Chinese food, fried chicken, pizza....whatever I was craving at the time.
